Upon your meet and greet with our representative at Bagdogra Airport or at NJP Railway Station, a transfer will be arranged to the quaint town of Darjeeling. Check in at your hotel in the hilly wonder of Darjeeling (‘Queen of the Hills’) and start to get familiar with your surroundings. Spend the rest of your day taking in the cool mountain air in a state of complete relaxation. Overnight stay in Darjeeling.
After breakfast, prepare for your excursion to Namchi (5,500 ft / 58 km / 2 hrs). Translating to ‘sky-high’ in Sikkimese, Namchi fascinates because it is only Indians that are allowed on this route. En route, explore the scenic beauty of Tukvar tea gardens, Bijanbari nestled in the valley below, Jamuni, River Rangeet, Happy New Year Bridge, Goke Bazaar, and the lovely mountain rivers of Rangbhang and Jordan.
Once you have arrived in Namchi, you will be visiting Namchi Helipad, Char Dham, Central Park, Samdruptse Monastery, Namchi Rock Garden and Ngadak Monastery. Later, drive back to Darjeeling. Overnight at the hotel in Darjeeling. SITES VISITED: Tukvar tea gardens, Bijanbari, Jamuni, River Rangeet, Happy New Year Bridge, Goke Bazaar, the lovely mountain rivers Rangbhang and Jorthang, Namchi Helipad, Char Dham, Central Park, Samdruptse Monastery, Namchi Rock Garden and Ngadak Monastery. Overnight in Darjeeling.
Spend your day today witnessing a magnificent sunrise over the Himalayas and exploring local tourist attractions. To watch the blaze of rapidly changing colors of the snow peaks as the sun strikes, set out early in the morning, before dawn (4 am), to the highest point in Darjeeling Tiger Hill (2590 m) – for views of a breathtaking sunrise and its reflection rays over the Kanchenjunga Ranges and other impressive Himalayan peaks. On the way back to your hotel, visit Batasia Loop and Ghoom Monastery. Expected arrival time at the hotel: 7 am.
After freshening up and a hearty breakfast at your hotel, visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (closed on Thursday), Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park, Darjeeling Ropeway Ride (Ticket cost not included & will be approx INR 180.00 per person), Tenzing – Gombu Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self Help Centre (closed on Sundays), Japanese Temple & Peace Pagoda, and panoramic view of Tea Estate. End your lovely city tour day with an overnight stay at a hotel in Darjeeling.
After breakfast, get ready for an excursion to the quiet town of Mirik (58 km / 2 hrs). Nestled perfectly between Siliguri and Darjeeling, Mirik is a hill resort visited for its pleasant climate and secluded charm – check out the beautiful tea gardens, cardamom groves, vantage points from the famous, beautiful Mirik Lake (Horse riding & Boat is available around the lake on direct payment basis) and orange orchards. On the way, be sure to visit Pashupati Market (on the India-Nepal border) for shopping. Come back to Darjeeling and end your day with a peaceful overnight stay at your hotel.
On the 5th day after breakfast, we’ll take you back to Guwahati. In Guwahati, you’ll have the opportunity to visit the Umananda Temple and explore the State Museum. As evening approaches, relish a breathtaking sunset River cruise over the majestic Brahmaputra river. Your final night in the region will be spent in Guwahati.
After you have finished your breakfast, a transfer will be arranged to Bagdogra Airport/ NJP Railway Station from the hotel (distance from Darjeeling to Bagdogra Airport: 110 kms/3 hrs). Your tour in Darjeeling has ended. Let the memories begin!
